NBA: Miami 91, Atlanta 83

ATLANTA, March 21 (UPI) -- Jason Williams scored 21 points as the Miami Heat held off Atlanta 91-83 Wednesday to win for the 10th time in 11 games.

The Heat blew a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter in Atlanta but Williams hit a clutch jumper and two free throws to preserve the victory and move into a first-place tie with Washington in the Southeast Division.

The Hawks had cut Miami's lead to 83-80 with 1:17 to play thanks to a 14-4 run before Williams drained a jump shot over Josh Childress and was then fouled after Eddie Jones stole the ball.

Jones scored 14 for Miami and Shaq O'Neal added a dozen points but only three rebounds.

Josh Smith had a game-high 27 for the Hawks, who saw their five-game home winning streak come to an end.
