NBA: Dallas 106, Boston 101

DALLAS, March 17 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter Friday night as Dallas rallied to beat the Boston Celtics, 106-101.

His fourth quarter output included two free throws with 47 seconds left; and a jump shot with 4.8 seconds remaining.

Boston had 54-44 halftime lead, courtesy of a 9-2 second quarter outburst.

Josh Howard equaled a career-high with 30 points; while Jason Terry added 16 points and three assists for the Mavericks, who snapped a two-game skid and improved their NBA-best record to 53-11.

Paul Pierce led Boston with 29 points and eight assists.

Gerald Green had a career-high 25 points, five rebounds, and two assists; while Al Jefferson added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who lost for the sixth straight time and for the 14th time in the last 16 meetings with Dallas.
