NHL: Phoenix 3, Calgary 2 (OT)

PHOENIX, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Shane Doan scored 54 seconds into overtime Thursday night as the Phoenix Coyotes ended a six-game losing streak with a 3-2 decision over Calgary.

Doan seized on a turnover and fired a wrist shot between the legs of goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff.

The other Phoenix goals came from Oleg Saprykin and Steven Reinprecht, while Mikael Tellqvist made 29 saves for the Coyotes.

Calgary lost its seventh straight road game. The Flames surrendered the tying goal with 4:50 left in the third period.

The teams play again Monday night in Calgary.
