Henin survives upset bid

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Justine Henin was forced to a third set Wednesday before moving on to the quarterfinals of the Dubai Women's Open.

Martina Hingis and Amelie Mauresmo also advanced.

Henin, the defending Dubai champion, rallied to defeat 16-year-old Tamira Paszek, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Paszek, a qualifier for the event, had a 5-4 lead in the second set and was at 30-30 on Henin's serve before the No. 1 seed got her game together.

Hingis, champion of this tournament six years ago, defeated Anabel Medina Garrigues, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. Mauresmo was an easy 6-2, 6-2, winner over Vera Dushevina.

Henin will next play Eleni Daniilidou of Greece, who defeated Ai Sugiyama, 5-7, 6-1, 7-5.
