McNabb says he wants to stay with Eagles

MIAMI, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Donovan McNabb, the Philadelphia quarterback sidelined in November by a knee injury, says he wants to return as an Eagle next season.

He told reporters in Miami, site of Sunday's Super Bowl XLI, that trade rumors were unfounded and he wanted to stay in Philadelphia, the Inquirer said.

McNabb reportedly had been considering moving on after his backup, Jeff Garcia, won praises from fans and teammates for rallying the Eagles to the division title.

Not so, he said, adding he and Garcia were good friends and he hoped Garcia would be re-signed.
