OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Kris Brown kicked three field goals in the fourth quarter Sunday to help the Houston Texans beat the Oakland Raiders, 23-14.
Ron Dayne rushed for 95 yards on 18 carries for Houston, and the defense forced three fumbles -- led by DeMeco Ryans, who had 15 tackles, a sack, an interception and forced a fumble. Wali Lundy ran for one touchdown as the Texans snapped a two-game skid and improved to 4-8.
They won despite negative net passing yards for David Carr, who was only 7-of-14 passing for 32 yards and was sacked five times.
Their defense sacked Oakland quarterback Aaron Brooks three times.
Brooks went 25-for-42 for 238 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions for Oakland. Kirk Morrison scored on a 35-yard fumble return, and Justin Fargas ran for a touchdown for the Raiders (2-10), whose losing streak grew to five games.
Houston trailed, 14-7, at halftime, but held Oakland scoreless in the second half.
