MLB: Philadelphia 6, Chi. Cubs 2

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Brett Myers threw a complete-game six-hitter Wednesday night as Philadelphia beat the Chicago Cubs, 6-2.

Chase Utley hit a two-run homer; Pat Burrell hit a solo homer and had two runs and two RBI; Mike Lieberthal hit an RBI double; Abraham Nunez hit an RBI single; and Jimmy Rollins had a run and two hits for the Phillies (79-73), who have won three of their last four games.

Myers (12-6) walked three batters and had 12 strikeouts.

Aramis Ramirez and Scott Moore each had one RBI, and Moore had two of the six hits for the Cubs (62-91), who have split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Les Walrond (0-1) gave up two runs and three hits in three innings with five walks and six strikeouts.

Philadelphia climbed to within 1/2 game of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the National League wild-card lead, pending the outcome of the Dodgers-Pirates contest in Los Angeles Wednesday night.
