MLB: Atlanta 4, Philadelphia 3

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning Saturday afternoon, giving Atlanta a 4-3 win over Philadelphia.

Daryle Ward, acquired from Washington Thursday, hit a two-run single; LaRoche had three hits; and Jeff Francoeur had two hits for the Braves (64-69), who have won six of their last 10 games.

In relief, the winner was Tyler Yates (2-4).

Bob Wickman earned his 11th save.

Chase Utley hit two homers and knocked in all three runs, while Shane Victorino had a run and four hits for the Phillies (67-67), who have split their last 10 games.

The losing pitcher was Arthur Rhodes (0-4).
