MLB: N.Y. Yankees 7, Chi. White Sox 6

CHICAGO, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Melky Cabrera, Bobby Abreu and Robinson Cano hit home runs Wednesday night to help the New York Yankees beat the Chicago White Sox, 7-6.

Abreu had two hits and knocked in three runs; Cano had a run and two hits; Alex Rodriguez had two hits and one RBI; while Derek Jeter had two runs and one hit for the Yankees (67-43), who have won 11 of their last 14 games.

Winner Randy Johnson (12-9) gave up three hits and two runs in six innings with two walks and five strikeouts. He did not allow a hit through the first five innings.

Mariano Rivera earned his 29th save.

Joe Crede hit a three-run homer, Tadahito Iguchi hit a two-run blast and Paul Konerko had one RBI for the White Sox (66-46), who have lost three of their last four games.

Loser Jon Garland (12-4) allowed six runs and 10 hits in six-plus innings.
