MLB: Chi. Cubs 7, Pittsburgh 5

CHICAGO, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Matt Murton and Angel Pagan each hit a home run Saturday afternoon to lead the Chicago Cubs past Pittsburgh, 7-5.

Murton hit a solo homer in the sixth inning, and Pagan hit a two-run shot in the eighth.

Murton finished with two hits; Ronny Cedeno had two hits and one RBI; while Juan Pierre had two runs and one hit for the Cubs (46-64), who have two wins in their last three games.

In 5 2/3 innings, winner Mark Prior (1-5) gave up three runs and five hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Ryan Dempster recorded his 21st save.

Ronny Paulino and Nate McLouth both hit solo home runs; Paulino knocked in three; Jose Castillo had two hits and one RBI; while starter and loser Zach Duke had two hits for the Pirates (42-69), who had won their previous two games.

In six innings, Duke (7-10) yielded five runs and nine hits.
