MLB: LA Angels 14, Cleveland 2

CLEVELAND, June 5 (UPI) -- Chone Figgins and Vladimir Guerrero each hit first-inning home runs, sending the LA Angels of Anaheim off to a 14-2 rout of the Cleveland Indians.

Angels starter John Lackey (4-3) allowed two hits over seven innings in getting the win and the Indians didn't score until the ninth inning of Sunday's game.

Mike Napoli and Dallas McPherson joined Figgins and Guerrero in the Angels' home run column and Kendry Morales and Juan Rivera each knocked in three runs to beat Indians starter C.C. Sabathia (5-2).

Figgins opened the game with a home run, Guerrero added a solo shot -- his 15th of the season -- and Morales got the other first-inning RBI for a 3-0 lead. Figgins earned a two-out walk, stole second and scored on a hit in the second to make the score 4-0.

The lead went to seven runs in the third with Rivera driving in a run and scoring on Napoli's home run. Morales and Rivera each knocked in two runs in the sixth, making the score 11-0 and McPherson hit a home run in the eighth. The 16-hit Angels attack was completed in the ninth with RBI doubles from Adam Kennedy and Erick Aybar.

Cleveland scored in the ninth on back-to-back home runs from Victor Martinez and Ben Broussard.
