MLB: Philadelphia 5, Pittsburgh 1

PITTSBURGH, April 30 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell hit a home run and knocked in two runs Sunday as Philadelphia beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-1.

The win allowed Philadelphia to avoid a three-game sweep.

Jimmy Rollins, who also homered, walked and scored twice; Aaron Rowland had two hits, scored once and drove in one; and Abraham Nunez -- subbing for star second baseman Chase Utley -- had three hits for the Phillies (10-14), who won four and lost four of their last eight games in April.

Winning pitcher Gavin Floyd (2-2) gave up one run and six hits in 6 2/3 innings with five walks and three strikeouts.

Jack Wilson hit his fifth homer of the season for Pittsburgh's only run, while five other players also had one hit for the Pirates (7-19), who have dropped eight of their last 11 games.

Loser Oliver Perez (1-4) surrendered four runs and six hits in 3 2/3 innings with five walks and four strikeouts.
