MLB: N.Y. Yankees 17, Toronto 6

NEW YORK, April 29 (UPI) -- Johnny Damon hit two homers and scored five times Saturday afternoon as the New York Yankees clobbered Toronto, 17-6.

Jason Giambi homered and drove in four runs; Jorge Posada had a home run, scored two runs and drove in one; and Gary Sheffield had three hits and scored twice for the Yankees (12-10), who have won five times in their last seven games. Winner Randy Johnson (4-2) surrendered six runs and six hits over five innings with four walks and two strikeouts.

Vernon Wells and Troy Glaus each drove in two runs and Shea Hillenbrand had two hits and one RBI for the Blue Jays (12-10).

Toronto starter Josh Towers (0-5) took the lose, yielding seven runs and six hits in 2 1/3 innings with one walk and two strikeouts.

Hillenbrand and Sheffield both were injured in a collision in the fifth inning.
