NHL: Boston 3, Toronto 2 (SO)

BOSTON, April 7 (UPI) -- Tim Thomas made 31 saves and stopped all three shots he faced in the shoot-out Thursday night as the Boston Bruins edged Toronto, 3-2.

Glen Murray and Mariusz Czerkawski both scored goals in regulation; and Yan Stastny; Brad Isbister; Shawn McEachern; and Marty Reasoner added assists for the Bruins (29-35-13). With the win, Boston ended a four-game losing streak.

Alexei Ponikarovsky and Mats Sundin each scored; Nik Antropov had two assists and goalie Jean-Sebastien Aubin stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Maple Leafs (36-32-8).

Toronto is 4-2 in its past six outings.

The Maple Leafs, who have six games remaining, trail Tampa Bay by seven points for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta remains one point ahead of Toronto for ninth place.
