TORONTO, April 7 (UPI) -- Jonny Gomes hit a two-run homer in the seventh to lead the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to a 9-8 victory over the Blue Jays.
Gomes went 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored two runs for Tampa Bay, which won its second straight. Carl Crawford had thee hits and Ty Wigginton went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI.
Devil Rays' second baseman Jorge Cantu left the game in the fifth inning with a bruised left foot and did not return.
Scott Dunn picked up his first major league win, allowing one run on four hits over 1 1/3 innings in relief. Casey Fossum lasted just 4 2/3 innings in his first start of the season for Tampa Bay, giving up six runs on seven hits.
Vernon Wells went 4-for-5 with two home runs, two RBI and two runs scored for the Blue Jays, who have dropped two of their last three. Troy Glaus hit a three-run homer.
Pete Walker took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits in just 2/3 of an inning in relief. Toronto starter Scott Downs gave up three runs on six hits, striking out four over five innings.
