NBA: Boston 110, Toronto 96

BOSTON, March 22 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce scored 32 points Wednesday night as Boston kept pace with Philadelphia in the NBA playoff chase with a 110-96 victory over Toronto.

The Celtics remained four games behind Philadelphia in the battle for the final playoff spot from the Eastern Conference. The 76ers defeated Atlanta Wednesday night.

Boston got 21 points and six rebounds from Delote West while Wally Szczerbiak had 19.

Toronto, which had won two games in a row, was led by Mike James with 31 points. Boston owned a six-point lead midway through the fourth period before going on a 13-4 run to decide the contest.
