NHL: Carolina 5, NY Rangers 3

RALEIGH, N.C., March 14 (UPI) -- Doug Weight had two goals and an assist Tuesday to lead the Carolina Hurricanes to a 5-3 victory over the New York Rangers.

Matt Cullen, Mike Commodore and Cory Stillman each added a goal and Martin Gerber made 41 saves for Carolina, which ended a three-game losing streak.

Michael Nylander had two goals and Petr Sykora another for the Rangers, who have lost six straight games. Kevin Weekes stopped 24 shots and Jaromir Jagr picked up his 50th assist of the season for New York.
