NHL: N.Y. Rangers 6, Philadelphia 1

PHILADELPHIA, March 2 (UPI) -- Jaromir Jagr had two goals and an assist Thursday night as the New York Rangers trounced Philadelphia, 6-1, for their seventh straight win.

Michael Nylander, Blair Betts and Jason Ward each scored a goal; Steve Rucchin had two assists; and goalie Kevin Weekes made 36 saves for New York (35-15-8), which moved four points ahead of the second-place Flyers for the lead in the Atlantic Division. It is the Rangers' longest winning streak since 1993.

Frederick Meyer scored the Flyers' lone goal on the power play in the second period on assists by Joni Pitkanen and Petr Nedved. Antero Niittymaki made 16 saves after replacing starter Robert Esche, who was pulled after giving up three goals on seven shots for Philadelphia (33-16-9).

The Flyers out-shot the Rangers, 37-26. On the power play, New York was 4-for-8 while Philadelphia was 1-for-9.
