NBA: Detroit 97, Golden State 85

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Richard Hamilton had 28 points Friday night as Detroit beat the Golden State Warriors, 97-85.

Rasheed Wallace added 19 points and six rebounds, Ben Wallace registered 15 points and 14 boards while Chauncey Billups had 10 points, three rebounds and five assists for the Pistons (21-3), who continued the best start in franchise history.

Ike Diogu had a career-high 27 points, Baron Davis had 14 points and 10 assists while Troy Murphy rang up 11 points and 11 boards for the Warriors (14-13), who have lost four straight.

Golden State had a slight 42-41 edge in rebounding.
