Roger Clemens plans Houston restaurant

HOUSTON, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens will open a Houston restaurant bearing his name next May, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Clemens will put his personal stamp on Roger Clemens' Rocket Sports Grill and appear there regularly, agent Randy Hendricks told the newspaper. The restaurant will display Clemens' Cy Young awards and other memorabilia.

Clemens also will set up an office at the Memorial City Mall restaurant that could expand to Austin and other Texas locations if it is successful, Hendricks said.

MetroNational, which owns the mall, will manage the 15,000-square-foot family-oriented restaurant.

Since Houston decided earlier this month not to offer salary arbitration to the 42-year-old right-hander, Clemens is a free agent and may not re-sign with the Astros until next May.
