NHL: NY Islanders 5, Colorado 4

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Rick DiPietro stopped 29 of 33 shots and held off a furious Colorado rally to lead the New York Islanders to a 5-4 win Saturday night.

Forward Arron Asham had a goal and an assist while defenseman Brent Sopel set up his teammates twice as the Islanders won for the second time in three games.

Chris Campoli scored what proved to be the winning goal 4:29 into the final period.

Marek Svatos had two goals and John-Michael Liles and Alex Tanguay each chipped in with a goal and an assist for Colorado, which lost its third straight.
