NHL: NY Rangers 3, Buffalo 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Kevin Weekes stopped Chris Drury on Buffalo's final shootout attempt Tuesday to save a 3-2 New York Rangers victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Jaromir Jagr had a goal and an assist and Weekes made 37 saves for the Rangers, who won their third consecutive game. Michael Nylander also scored for New York, which ended a four-game losing streak to Buffalo.

Jay McKee and Drury both had goals and Mika Noronen stopped 25 of 27 shots for Buffalo, which had a three-game winning streak halted. Marty Biron came off the bench to replace Noronen after the first shooter in the shootout, but didn't stop either shot he faced.

All three Rangers shooters were successful going to Noronen's or Biron's stick side, as Martin Straka, Nylander and Jagr each scored in the shootout. Daniel Briere and Ales Kotalik both beat Weekes to his glove side, but Drury's attempt was turned away.
