NHL: Detroit 3, Minnesota 1

DETROIT, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Brendan Shanahan scored his team-leading 10th goal Friday night as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Minnesota Wild, 3-1.

Jason Williams and Johan Franzen scored the other goals, Jiri Fischer, Robert Lang, Henrik Zetterberg, Nicklas Lidstrom, Mikael Samuelsson, and Kirk Maltby each had one assist, and goalie Manny Legace, who is still a little shaky after his return from a sprained knee, made 16 saves for Detroit (15-2-1), which has won three straight.

Randy Robitaille scored the lone goal, Alexandre Daigle and Brent Burns each logged one assist and goaltender Manny Fernandez made 34 saves on 37 shots for Minnesota (8-8-2).

In the last 15 meetings between these teams, Detroit is 10-2-3 and unbeaten in the last six in a row.

Detroit easily won the shots on goal battle, 37-17. Both clubs were 1-for-3 on the power play.
