NBA: New Jersey 102, Toronto 92

TORONTO, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Richard Jefferson had 35 points and 11 rebounds Friday night as New Jersey beat the Toronto Raptors, 102-92.

With the win, the Nets rebounded from an embarrassing opening-night, 110-96 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jefferson, who was 9-for-17 from the floor, went 5-for-8 on three-pointers to help New Jersey even its record to 1-1.

Former Raptor Vince Carter had 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Jason Kidd scored 17 and Nenad Krstic grabbed nine boards.

For Toronto (0-2), both Jose Calderon and Morris Peterson had 20 points off the bench and Chris Bosh added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Jalen Rose was held to eight points.

The Nets out-rebounded Toronto, 46-35.
