NHL: Toronto 5, Boston 4

TORONTO, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Eric Lindros scored a shootout goal and Ed Belfour stopped 49 shots Tuesday as the Toronto Maple Leafs posted a 5-4 victory over the Boston Bruins.

Belfour turned aside 13-of-14 shots in the third period and came up big during a two-man advantage late in regulation as the Maple Leafs won for the fifth time in their last six games.

Tie Domi, Bryan McCabe, Alexander Khavanov and Alexei Ponikarovsky each had goals for the Maple Leafs.

Brad Boyes, Patrick Leahy, Ian Moran and Glen Murray all scored for the Bruins, who participated in their first shootout. Boston, which failed to score on 10 power-play opportunities, has lost four of its last five contests.

Andrew Raycroft stopped 28 shots for the Bruins, but allowed Lindros' goal in the shootout.
