NHL: Ottawa 6, Toronto 5

OTTAWA, Ontario, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Dany Heatley scored the only goal in a shootout Monday to give the Ottawa Senators a 6-5 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Heatley also added a regulation goal and two assists, while Jason Spezza scored a pair of goals and assisted on another for the Senators, who beat Toronto for the second time in a shootout this season.

Daniel Alfredsson added a goal and an assist as Ottawa won its third straight to start the season.

Bryan McCabe scored a goal and chipped in two assists while Tomas Kaberle had three assists for the Maple Leafs, who remained winless on the season at 0-1-2.

After blowing a 4-2 lead, Ottawa found itself trailing 5-4 until Spezza's rebound goal at the 9:27 mark of the third period tied the score.
