Probation for Harrison after brawl

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Indiana Pacers center David Harrison Friday received one year's probation for his role in last November's brawl at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Mich.

Harrison pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of assault. He is the fourth Indiana player to receive probation in the wake of the incident, joining Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson.

Harrison also was fined $250, will have to perform community service and undergo anger management therapy.

The brawl, involving both spectators and players, erupted near the end of the Nov. 9 game between the Pacers and Detroit Pistons after an on-court dispute over a foul. With the Pacers ahead by 15 points, Detroit's Ben Wallace was fouled by Artest and gave Artest a two-handed push to the face after what he felt was a hard foul.

The game was stopped with 45 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
