MLB: Chi. White Sox 3, Minnesota 1

CHICAGO, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Jermaine Dye hit a three-run homer Friday night as the Chicago White Sox beat Minnesota, 3-1.

Dye had three hits and Tadahito Iguchi added two for the White Sox, who snapped a two-game slide. Winner Jose Contreras, who threw a six-hitter for the first complete game of his career, improved to 14-7. He threw 83 of his 111 pitches for strikes. Contreras walked one and fanned nine.

Michael Ryan knocked in the Twins' lone run. Losing pitcher Kyle Lohse fell to 9-13.

Minnesota has lost four of its last six games.
