Calcavecchia leads at Vancouver

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Mark Calcavecchia, who took control on Friday, is the leader after 36 holes at the Canadian Open at Vancouver.

At the halfway point, Calcavecchia stands at 8-under-par 132.

Lucas Glover is in second place at 3-under 137.

Calcavecchia and Glover each shot 5-under-par 65 in Thursday's first round to share the lead. Glover ballooned to a 5-over 72 on Friday, while Calcavecchia carded a 3-under 67.

Jesper Parnevik (72), Jerry Kelly (66), Mathias Gronberg (70), Carlos Franco (70) and Bob Heintz (70) all are locked in third place at 2-under 138 after two rounds.

The cut was 4-over 144. Among those not making it were Jason Gore, Mike Weir -- who was beaten in a playoff last year by Vijay Singh -- Rich Beem, Bob Tway and Joey Sindelar.

Singh is at 1-under 139.
