Allenby seeks first win in four years

BETHESDA, Md., June 10 (UPI) -- Australian Robert Allenby, who has not won on the PGA Tour in four years, took the lead Friday midway through the Booz Allen Classic.

Allenby shot a 6-under 65 at the Congressional Country Club for a 36-hole total of 9-under 133 and a two-shot advantage over Adam Scott, Matt Gogel, Steve Elkington and Lee Westwood.

Ernie Els was among those at 136 while 55-year-old Tom Kite was at 137. Phil Mickelson finished two rounds at 138 and Vijay Singh at 140.

Allenby won four times over two seasons on the tour, but has not captured a tournament since the 2001 Philadelphia Classic.
