Henin-Hardenne wins French Open

PARIS, June 4 (UPI) -- Justine Henin-Hardenne slammed Mary Pierce, 6-1, 6-1 Saturday in the women's final at the French Open in Paris.

It was the second title at Roland Garros for Henin-Hardenne, who was the 10th seed this year. She still has never lost to Pierce, who was No. 21. Pierce, who plays under the French flag, resides in Florida. She lived in France briefly, and never could use the former home crowd to her advantage.
