CHICAGO, May 20 (UPI) -- Freddy Garcia worked seven innings Friday, bringing the Chicago White Sox a 5-1 win over the Chicago Cubs in the season's first interleague game.
The only run Garcia allowed was unearned. He gave up five hits and struck out three in running his record to 4-3. Cliff Politte picked up the save.

Joe Crede and Jermaine Dye delivered home runs while A.J. Pierzynski went three for four. The White Sox have won three straight.

Greg Maddux (2-2) also went seven innings, surrendering four runs on nine hits.
