CHICAGO, May 11 (UPI) -- A leadoff homer in the 10th inning by Derrek Lee Wednesday gave the Chicago Cubs a 4-3 win over the New York Mets.
Lee's homer came on a 3-2 pitch from Heath Bell (0-1). The Cubs managed just two hits after the second inning.

The Mets forced extra innings with a run in the ninth against Ryan Dempster (2-3), who eventually got the win with a two-inning effort.
It was Chicago's third straight victory, a surge that has followed seven straight losses.
After New York tied the game in the top of the ninth, the Cubs loaded the bases in the bottom half without producing a run.
