FOXBORO, Mass., April 29 (UPI) -- The New England Patriots signed quarterback Doug Flutie on Friday to serve as a backup for superstar Tom Brady.
Flutie, 42, has played for Chicago, New England, Buffalo and San Diego in an 11-year NFL career.

Prior to that, he was a Canadian Football League legend. He won the CFL's outstanding player award six times. Flutie won the Heisman Trophy while with Boston College in 1984.
