DETROIT, April 7 (UPI) -- The Detroit Tigers used a six-run seventh inning Thursday to beat Kansas City 7-3.
Pudge Rodriguez had four of the Tigers' 14 hits. Rondel White added two RBI.

Terence Long was 3-for-4 with one run scored for the Royals.
Winning pitcher Jason Johnson (1-0) allowed five hits and no runs over 6 2/3 innings. Mike Wood (0-1) was the loser.
