NBA: Detroit 78, Miami 77

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Richard Hamilton lofted a shot over Shaquille O'Neal that banked in with 1.3 seconds left Friday night as Detroit edged Miami, 78-77.

Hamilton carried Detroit with 24 points, helping the Pistons win for the second time in four games since the brawl that disrupted their game with Indiana last week.

Miami lost to an Eastern Conference team for the first time this year despite 24 points and 17 rebounds from O'Neal. Dwayne Wade added 17 points.

The Heat hit just one shot from the field in the final 4:40 and that was a jumper from Rasual Butler that gave Miami a 77-76 advantage with 7.3 seconds to play.

Tayshaun Prince inbounded for Detroit and managed to get it to Hamilton down low. Hamilton dribbled away from the hoop and then put up a shot over O'Neal that caromed in.
