ATLANTA, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Top-ranked Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Tiger Woods and other top stars tee off Thursday in the Tour Championship in Georgia.
Singh is shooting for his 10th victory of the year and sixth in his last eight tournaments.
Woods, back from his honeymoon, lost his No. 1 ranking to Singh in September. Woods said Singh has been playing "unbelievable golf."
The championship -- the final event of the PGA Tour schedule -- is for the top 30 money-winners on the tour but this year's field has 31 players. Padraig Harrington of Ireland, who is not a member of the tour, was invited because his winnings would have put him in the top 30. He plans to join the tour next year.
Pairings in the opening round at Atlanta's East Lake Golf Club include Singh and No. 4 Phil Mickelson in one twosome and Nos. 2-3 Els and Woods in another.
The defending champion is Chad Campbell.
