MINNEAPOLIS, April 20 (UPI) -- Michael Ryan went 3-for-3 Tuesday as the Minnesota Twins ran their winning streak to six games with a 6-4 triumph over the Detroit Tigers.
Ryan had been just 1-for-7 on the season. He singled, stole a base, and came around to score Minnesota's first run. The designated hitter then added run-scoring singles in the fourth and sixth innings, each time putting the Twins in front. His final hit gave Minnesota a 5-4 lead.
Carlos Silva (2-0) picked up the win despite allowing four runs and six hits in six innings.
Juan Rincon worked two scorless innings and Joe Nathan survived a rocky ninth inning to earn his third save.
Jason Johnson (1-3) took the loss for the Tigers, who have dropped six of their last 10 games since winning their first four.
