NHL: St. Louis 4, Boston 3 (OT)

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Doug Weight scored with 42 seconds remaining in overtime Tuesday to give the St. Louis Blues a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins.

After St. Louis pulled goaltender Chris Osgood for an extra attacker in the final minute of the third period, Weight raced back to tie up Sergei Samsonov, preventing the Russian left wing from scoring into an empty net.

Play turned up ice and Keith Tkachuk completed a nifty passing sequence by scoring his 11th goal with 29 seconds to go, sending the game to overtime.

With time winding down in the extra period, Weight carried into the Boston zone and wristed a shot from the top of the right faceoff circle that beat goaltender Felix Potvin to the far side.

Pavol Demitra and rookie Mark Rycroft also scored for St. Louis.

Martin Lapointe, Joe Thornton and defenseman Nick Boynton tallied for Boston, which lost for the third time in four games.
