Biffle wins Busch Series race at Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Pole-sitter Greg Biffle overcame just about every problem Saturday to win the NASCAR Busch Series Aaron's 312 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

A flat tire, a virtual empty fuel tank and a pit-road speeding violation did not stop Biffle from powering his Chevrolet Monte Carlo past Winston Cup regular Michael Waltrip after the final restart en route to his second victory in his last three races.

Waltrip stayed with used tires on his Chevrolet during the last caution which proved the difference as he did not have a sufficient grip to keep the lead. He finished fourth behind Winston Cup points-leader Matt Kenseth and Bobby Hamilton Jr.

David Green regained first place from Brian Vickers in the points standings by finishing eighth. Vickers was involved in an accident and had a flat tire early before completing just 189 of 203 laps to place 31st.

Vickers fell to fifth, 49 points behind Green.
