CLEVELAND, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- C.C. Sabathia threw a four-hitter for his first career shutout Friday night, giving Cleveland a 1-0 win over Tampa Bay.

Sabathia (11-7) was locked in a pitcher's duel against Victor Zambrano, who allowed just three hits in eight scoreless innings. But the Indians broke through in the ninth against reliever Travis Harper (2-7).

Travis Hafner, who became the first Cleveland player to hit for the cycle in more than 25 years Thursday night, singled to start the ninth.

Pinch-runner Zach Sorensen advanced on a sacrifice by pinch-hitter Coco Crisp. Alex Escobar followed with a grounder to short, but Julio Lugo 's throw pulled Travis Lee off first and Sorensen remained at second.

Bard then lined a 1-0 pitch to center field to score Sorensen.
