Texas 8, Cleveland 5

ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Alex Rodriguez homered for the fourth consecutive game and Einar Diaz hit a go-ahead three-run blast Sunday night as Texas outslugged Cleveland, 8-5.

The Rangers ran their winning streak to five games. They have won five in a row for the first time since taking seven straight from May 16-23.

Texas homered 13 times in the three-game sweep of the Indians, and lead the major leagues with 170.

Texas overcame an early 3-0 deficit after the Indians sent eight men to the plate in the opening inning against R.A. Dickey. Rodriguez and Rafael Palmeiro started the comeback in the bottom of the first with back-to-back solo shots, and Diaz snapped a 4-4 tie in the third with his fourth homer of the season.

Dickey (5-5) notched his first career win as a starting pitcher, and Francisco Cordero picked up his fifth save.

Cleveland starter and loser Brian Anderson (8-9) was tagged for seven runs, two earned, and nine hits in three innings.
