PITTSBURGH, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Bill Guerin scored twice in the final two periods and Sean O'Donnell's first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner Wednesday night as the Boston Bruins defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-2.
Guerin has scored seven goals in his last seven games and tallied twice for the second time in four games. He snapped a 1-1 tie midway through the second before securing the win with an empty-netter in the final minute.
Guerin gave the Bruins the lead for good with 10:10 left in the second period, lifting a shot from just outside ther crease off the shoulder of Pittsburgh's Johan Hedbeg.
O'Donnell scored on the power play 6:03 later, one-timing a cross-ice pass from Jozef Stumpel behind Hedberg. He had not scored since Feb. 24, 2001, while with Minnesota.
Stumpel and Joe Thornton each collected two assists for the Bruins, who have won five of their last seven games.
Alexei Kovalev scored both goals for Pittsburgh, which had a five-game unbeaten streak snapped.
