LA Lakers 108, Orlando 95

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Shaquille O'Neal collected 38 points and 18 rebounds Sunday night as the Los Angeles Lakers remained unbeaten with a 108-95 victory over the Orlando Magic.

In a futile attempt to match up with O'Neal, Orlando started rookie Steven Hunter at center. O'Neal greeted Hunter with a dunk and a layup in the game's first two minutes.

The Magic also tried using Patrick Ewing against O'Neal with little success. O'Neal made 11 of 21 shots for 23 points in the first half.

A three-pointer by Robert Horry with 4:13 left before halftime gave Los Angeles the lead for good at 51-49. O'Neal dunked over Ewing with 39 seconds to go as the Lakers took a 59-53 halftime advantage.

Kobe Bryant scored 28 points for Los Angeles (6-0), one of two unbeaten teams in the league along with Minnesota. Bryant was hit in the nose just 4:04 into the game and was forced to exit, but returned with guaze stuffed in his nostril.

Tracy McGrady led Orlando with 22 points and Grant Hill added 21, 13 rebounds and nine assists.
