Milwaukee 97, Golden State 90

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Michael Redd scored five of his 15 points during a key fourth-quarter run Friday night as the shorthanded Milwaukee Bucks held off the Golden State Warriors, 97-90.

The Warriors closed within 77-74 on a basket by Mookie Blaylock with 7:06 to go. But Jason Caffey and Redd had consecutive three-point plays and Redd added a bucket for an 85-74 cushion with 5:57 left.

Ray Allen scored 23 points and Glenn Robinson added 16 for Milwaukee, which played without Sam Cassell, Ervin Johnson, Darvin Ham and newcomer Anthony Mason only to lead the entire second half.

The Warriors led by as many as 11 points in the second quarter, but Allen scored seven points during a 13-2 run that tied it at 39-39 with 2:25 left in the first half.

Erick Dampier scored 13 points and Blaylock and Danny Fortson added 12 apiece for Golden State, which shot 45 percent to Milwaukee's 42 percent and held a 43-40 rebounding edge.

The Warriors (3-5), whose starters received extended minutes, finished their preseason schedule with a four-game losing streak. The Bucks split eight exhibition games.
