MCLEAN, Va., June 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Science Applications International Corp. to support the mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle program.
U.S. company SAIC was awarded the contract from the Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command. Under the $357 million blanket purchase agreement, SAIC will support the TACOM's Joint Program Office with MRAP vehicle joint logistics integrator and operational readiness services.
As part of the logistics and operational readiness services, SAIC will provide planning, management, and analytical support along with oversight and management among other requirements to ensure fleet readiness and sustainment.
"SAIC has supported MRAP operations for the past 17 months," Jim Cuff, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.
"As we transition from a subcontractor role to that of the prime contractor, we look forward to continuing our support of the Army and the critical MRAP program as the joint logistics integrator."
