Navy negotiates with dck on site leasing

PITTSBURGH, April 6 (UPI) -- dck worldwide said it is in exclusive negotiations with the U.S. Navy to develop a business plan to potentially lease naval property in Florida.

U.S. company dck worldwide said its Saufley Group subsidiary is currently in negotiations with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast. The negotiations are part of an effort by dck worldwide to reach an agreement on leasing NAVFAC's approximately 104-acre Saufley Field property near the naval air station in Pensacola, Fla.

The potential leasing of the NAVFAC property is part of the National Defense Act that "allows Department of Defense installations to maximize their underutilized land through out-leasing and provide in-kind services and/or facilities for the military and public," according to a news release.

dck worldwide said it is developing a business plan for evaluation by NAVFAC that identifies potential uses for the property. Company officials said one possible use for the site includes a dck worldwide aeronautical education initiative.
