EAST HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Pratt & Whitney to support the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center's F-16 Aggressor Squadron.
U.S. company and propulsion technologies developer Pratt & Whitney was awarded a follow-on contract from the Navy to continue providing engine readiness support for the F100 engine-powered F-16 Aggressor Squadron.
Under the $4 million fleet management contract, Pratt & Whitney will be responsible for ensuring that the fleet of F-16 fighter aircraft located at the Navy's Naval Air Station Fallon training facility in Nevada has continuously operational engines.
"Pratt & Whitney is proud to support the Navy Aggressor Squadron at the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center as they help to train and prepare naval aviators to be safe and effective during potential engagements with hostile adversaries," Mark Buongiorno, Pratt & Whitney F100 engine program director, said in a statement.
"This award illustrates the Navy's continued confidence in Pratt & Whitney's ability to provide world-class support in a performance-based contracting environment. It is an honor to support the Navy in its execution of this critical training mission."
