Officials say the assessment will help the Air Force with decisions on the weapons technologies, concepts, training and logistics, among other key aspects of future weapons systems and electronic warfare capabilities.

"Alion team members will assess future weapons capability shortfalls and develop capability concepts to support the Air Force strategic planning process," Chris Amos, Alion senior vice president and manager of the technology solutions group, said in a statement.

"Results of this effort will provide a valuable compilation of knowledge for the Air Force and other Department of Defense activities. The global war on terror is depending on work under this contract."
