Sharon names new Mossad head

JERUSALEM, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Tuesday named retired Maj. Gen. Meir Dagan as head of the Mossad spy service. Dagan was the prime minister's adviser on terror and commanded the Israeli troops on the Syrian border. He will replace Ephraim Halevy, who was appointed head of the National Security Council.
